Brian Mitchell, AFC Clinician

Brian is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Massachusetts and provides individual psychotherapy for children and adults at Access for Change. Brian uses a wide variety of psychotherapeutic modalities, tailoring interventions based on each individual client’s needs and goals. Just as no two people are the same, no two psychotherapy relationships are ever the same.

Background & Experience

Brian has worked with clients as young as 5 years old and as mature as 90 years old. Brian’s educational background includes degrees from Clark University and Harvard University, and he obtained his Master’s in Social Work from Bridgewater State University. He has training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, and varied treatment modalities. Brian also has post-graduate training in Child and Adolescent Psychoanalysis as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

He has worked with clients in a variety of settings including outpatient clinics and structured settings such as group homes and locked facilities. In addition, Brian has supervised license-eligible clinicians and has worked as a Clinical Director providing clinical and administrative supervision to other clinicians.
